An investigation is continuing after a bomb threat resulted in temporary store evacuations in the Dundas Street East Trenton area on Monday, say police.
In a release issued Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, OPP confirmed their investigation into a threat, which resulted in the temporary evacuation of stores in the east-end of Trenton.
On Monday Sept. 29, 2025, shortly after 2 p.m., officers responded to a retail plaza on Dundas Street East after employees at a business called OPP to report receiving a threatening phone call indicating there was a bomb, said OPP, in its Tuesday release.
The store and neighbouring businesses were evacuated as a precaution, and the parking lot was cleared of drivers and pedestrians, said police.
However, officers and the canine unit conducted a search and found no suspicious items, reported OPP, adding that stores reopened just before 3 p.m.
Bomb threats can pose a significant risk to public safety and require immediate attention and investigation – making such a threat is a crime, stressed police, on Tuesday.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to reach out to Quinte West OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or 613-392-3561. Information can also be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
