A traffic stop has led to impaired driving and speeding charges for a Trenton resident, say police.
On Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at about 11:45 p.m., Quinte West OPP said officers initiated a traffic stop on Glen Miller Road. After an approved screening device was utilized, an impaired driving arrest was made, and the accused transported to the police station for further testing, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 30-year-old Trenton resident was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drug, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and speeding – 1/49 km/h over posted limit.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Belleville court on Oct. 16, 2025, reported police.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
OPP continues to ask citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
