Routine hydrant flushing will be getting underway in Brighton as of this Sunday, Oct. 5, says the municipality.
Hydrant flushing will continue between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily until Friday, Oct. 10, starting in the north end and going south.
In terms of what residents should know, people may notice temporary changes in water pressure or slight discolouration during these times, note municipal staff. Residents are also being asked to avoid doing laundry and using hot water during flushing hours, add staff.
Any hydrant flushing that isn’t tackled by Oct. 10 will be conducted during regular working hours over the coming weeks, according to the municipality.
