The Children’s Foundation has announced the results of its 2025 Kids Can’t Wait Radiothon, confirming the event raised more than $57,000 to support children and youth in Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward counties.
The 12-hour broadcast brought together nine local radio stations, including Oldies 100.9 and 93.3 myFM, which dedicated airtime to the cause. The total reflects all pledges, auction proceeds, third-party contributions, and donations made during the day-long campaign.
“The real winners are the children and youth right here at home,” said Ingrid Moore, Executive Director of The Children’s Foundation. “This outpouring of generosity means more kids can access the supports that help them explore, learn, play, and thrive – from essentials that remove barriers to participation, to programs that build confidence and open doors.”
Throughout the day, listeners heard powerful stories from families, youth, board members, and volunteers about the impact of donor support. Foundation staff say the funds will go toward programs that allow children to participate in activities such as sports teams or summer camps, as well as other supports that reduce financial barriers.
“Every pledge, every auction bid, every shout-out on air added up to life-changing impact,” said Dreya Richardson, Community Engagement and Events Coordinator at TCF. “This is community at its best.”
The Children’s Foundation extended its thanks to all nine radio partners for generously donating airtime and rallying listeners, noting that the success of the radiothon was made possible by volunteers, donors, and community members working together.
