With a focus on the 55-plus community, a seniors active living fair is coming to Northumberland.
YMCA Northumberland says the event is being designed as forum to build community partnerships, share knowledge about healthy aging and encourage participation in active lifestyles for those ages 55 and older in the community.
Participants will get to discover trends, tips and tech for thriving, say organizers.
The event is being hosted by YMCA Northumberland, in partnership with the Older Adult Centres Association of Ontario (OACAO), and with funding from the province. The free event is open to all and is set for Oct. 22 at the Cobourg Y from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Organizers say the event is bringing together more than 30 vendors who will showcase supports, services and activities all under one roof. There will also be some demonstrations and special presentations.
Attendees will get to learn about government, professional, healthy eating and physical and mental health services, in addition to leisure activities, arts and culture, retirement living, and more.
A fulsome rundown is accessible online and there will also be a light complimentary lunch.
