The driver of a tractor-trailer that collided with a fire truck on Hwy. 401 in Clarington is facing a careless driving charge, says OPP.
The accused is a 42-year-old Woodstock resident, said OPP, in an update on X, on the morning of Friday, Oct. 10, 2025.
According to OPP’s Highway Safety Division, two firefighters were sent to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening following the crash during the early morning hours in the westbound Newtonville Road area Friday.
Police said the fire truck was at the scene for an earlier collision blocking a live lane at about 2:30 a.m., and the firefighters were inside the vehicle at the time of crash.
Police continue to call on motorists to slow down and move over when approaching emergency scenes.
All lanes have since reopened along the highway.
