
After responding to a report of people being robbed in their home by three individuals armed with a gun and knife, officers have made quick arrests following an alleged home invasion robbery, says Quinte West OPP.
According to OPP, officers were called to an Adrian Court home on Thanksgiving Monday – Oct. 13, 2025 – shortly after 8 p.m.
“Residents of an apartment reported being robbed in their home by three individuals armed with a gun and a knife,” said police, in a release issued Tuesday. “One of the residents was assaulted but did not suffer serious injuries.”
Numerous items and cash were taken, and the accused individuals allegedly forced the victims to transfer money from their bank accounts to another account, reported OPP.
One person was arrested in the area, and officers determined the other two suspects were in another apartment, said police, adding that members of OPP’s emergency response team then surrounded the location, and the tactics and rescue (TRU) unit was called in.
“Within minutes of the TRU team’s arrival, two men were safely taken into custody,” said police.
As a result of the investigation, police said Anthony-Joel Kabwika Lumbala, 26, of Oshawa, was charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, robbery using a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000, break and enter, disguise with intent, and mischief under $5,000.
Police also said Ismael Tumba, 21, of Toronto, was charged with robbery using a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, break and enter, disguise with intent, theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, unlawfully in a dwelling, mischief under $5,000, and failure to comply with a release order.
Police said Angela Zimmerman, 36, of Quinte West, was also charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle, robbery using a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, break and enter, theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, and unlawfully in a dwelling.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
All three of the accused were held for bail hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, in Belleville, reported OPP.
