Cobourg police say a 50-year-old Warkworth man is facing charges after a theft investigation.
Back on Oct. 10, 2025, at about 7 p.m., officers responded to an alleged theft at an Elgin Street West business in the Town of Cobourg, where a man allegedly took merchandise and fled the scene.
Police said a suspect was subsequently located and arrested, and a search allegedly turned up a quantity of suspected cocaine and a fabricated Ontario driver’s licence.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 50-year-old Warkworth man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, possession of a forged document, and possession of a schedule I substance.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused will appear in Cobourg court on Dec. 3, 2025, reported police.
