Local entrepreneurs have another opportunity to grow their business through the Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland’s (BECN) Starter Company Growth program.
After a successful intake earlier this year, BECN is once again accepting applications for the program, which offers micro grants of up to $3,500, free training, mentorship, and ongoing business support.
Funded in partnership with the Province of Ontario, the program is designed to help eligible small business owners in Northumberland expand their operations, strengthen their strategy, and connect with other entrepreneurs.
Trent Hills business owner Jen Scriven-Jonk of Body Love Fitness said receiving a grant through the program helped her launch a professional website and grow her virtual fitness studio. “The grant and peer connections offered through BECN have truly elevated my business presence and professionalism,” she said.
Applicants must have operated a full-time business in Northumberland County for at least six months to qualify. Space is limited, and funding will be awarded through a competitive selection process.
The application deadline is Nov. 10, 2025.
