Brighton’s Tim Hortons is stepping up to help Brighton Fire and Rescue with the return of its Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.
The week-long campaign runs Monday, Nov. 17 to Sunday, Nov. 23, and in Brighton, half of the proceeds from every cookie sold will go directly to Brighton Fire and Rescue for public education and outreach initiatives.
That was Brighton fire Chief Gene Thompson, who adds that proceeds will help locally when it comes to teaching fire safety, running community programs, and keeping Brightonians informed.
The Brighton Tim Hortons restaurant is located at 153 Elizabeth St. (the No Frills Plaza.)
Tim Hortons’ Holiday Smile Cookies are described as limited-time white chocolate sugar cookies decorated with festive red and green sprinkles and a hand-iced smile – some of which will be painted by local firefighters.
A Tim Hortons’ spokesperson says the restaurant is proud to again partner with Brighton Fire and Rescue and also help send more kids to camp.
As part of the campaign, monies raised also help send youth to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
In nearby Quinte West, the campaign is supporting the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation with its fundraising efforts for critical medical equipment – and at Colborne and Cobourg Tim Hortons’ locations, the Northumberland Humane Society is this year’s charity of choice.
