The 2025 edition of the Brighton Santa Claus Parade returns to sprinkle some Christmas magic throughout the community this Friday.
But to accommodate the parade, road closures are needed, and the Municipality of Brighton is encouraging residents to plan ahead.
The parade officially starts at 7 p.m., but road closures for a number of street segments will officially be in effect Friday, Nov. 21 as of 6 p.m. and last until about 9 p.m.
According to the municipality, the following the streets will be impacted:
- Terry Fox Drive from Elizabeth to Dundas (although parade floats will be accepted.)
- Dundas Street from Terry Fox Drive to Young Street (although parade floats will be accepted.)
- Prince Edward Street from Sanford to Chapel streets.
- Main Street from Prince Edward to Ontario streets.
- Maplewood Avenue from Main street to Chapel streets.
- Chapel from Maplewood Avenue to Prince Edward Street.
- Elizabeth Street at Prince Edward to Elizabeth at Terry Fox Drive.
The municipality suggests that if these closures impact regular travel plans, residents should plan alternative routes accordingly.
As previously reported, this year’s parade starts at the intersection of Alice and Dundas, heads to Main, then onto Maplewood to Chapel, left onto Prince Edward and down Elizabeth before ending at the Dundas and Terry Fox Drive intersection.
