A Brampton man accused of blasting through Brighton on Hwy. 401 has been charged.
According to Northumberland OPP, the accused 24-year-old was clocked at 163 km/h in the eastbound lanes along the highway in Brighton.
As a result of the investigation, police said the accused was charged with drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed, and failure to surrender an insurance card.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days, reported OPP.
Police continue to remind motorists that speeding is dangerous and puts everyone at risk and ask folks to slow down and drive responsibly.
