After an initial report of a woman nearly hitting a pedestrian, then fleeing the area and later trying to evade officers, Belleville police say charges have been laid.
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at about 5:48 a.m., the Belleville Police Service said police received a report about a woman driving erratically and nearly striking a pedestrian before fleeing the area.
Officers quickly responded, located the suspect vehicle in the city’s west end and attempted to block it in, reported police. The driver allegedly reversed in an attempt to flee, “striking police vehicles” – but officers were able to box the vehicle in, added police.
The accused then allegedly exited her vehicle and after a brief foot pursuit was taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 32-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with dangerous operation and flight from a peace officer.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
