After responding to reports of a vehicle “parked in an intersection,” Quinte West OPP says a 41-year-old local resident is facing an impaired driving by drug charge.
According to OPP, police responded to the report at about 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2025.
The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing, reported police.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 41-year-old Quinte West man was charged with operation while impaired by drug.
This charge has not been proven in court.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Belleville court on Dec. 18, 2025, said police.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
Police continue to call on citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911, saying a phone call could save a life.
