A holiday pet adoption event aimed at finding homes for cats and kittens is returning to Thomas Buick GMC this weekend in support of the Northumberland Humane Society.
The community event runs Saturday, December 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 100 University Avenue West in Cobourg and Humane Society representative Wendy Riley says the return of the event follows the success of last year’s effort.
Riley notes that while animals shouldn’t be given as surprise gifts, the holiday period is often ideal for introducing a pet into the home.
Thomas Buick GMC’s Lara Campbell says the dealership is eager to help again after last year’s adoption turnout.
Campbell also announced a donation initiative tied to a private sale the following week.
December 9, 10 and 11 every test drive will mean a $50 donation by the Thomas Buick GMC to NHS.
The event is also being supported again this year by Justin’s Pet Store, which will provide take-home care packages for newly adopted pets.
