With hopes of boosting tourism in the region, both the cities of Quinte West and Belleville are rolling out grant opportunities.
The City of Quinte West has announced applications are open for its 2026 tourism development fund grant, which offers up to $10,000 in funding for tourism-focused events and initiatives taking place in Quinte West and that drive economic impacts in the community.
Officials say the fund is meant to bolster the city’s tourism objectives, like strengthening the local visitor economy by attracting more people, increasing overnight stays, and encouraging higher visitor spending.
“The fund will also help support the development of local tourism experiences that give visitors more choice of activities during their stay in Quinte West,” explain city staff, adding that events fostering collaboration with area business operators are considered ideal for submissions.
Funding is being made available for one-time or project-related expenses. Applications will be evaluated next year after the closing date and consider municipal goals, community impact, feasibility, and long-term sustainability, according to the city.
Applications – which can be submitted online or in-person at city offices in Trenton or Frankford – are being accepted now and until Feb. 28, 2026. More information, including eligibility requirements, is accessible online via the city’s website.
Applicants will be asked to share project details, provide a budget outline, and describe anticipated benefits and outcomes of projects for the community.
Similarly, the City of Belleville has announced applications are now also open for its first round of community impact and tourism grants.
Staff say the community stream supports organizations, groups, and events promoting well-being and growth in the community.
The tourism funding stream supports events drawing visitors from outside the city – whether through local entertainment or promoting new spending and overnight stays.
A maximum of $10,000 between financial help and/or municipal resources is available for single grants.
Belleville will accept community impact grants until Jan. 9 and tourism grants until Jan. 30 at 4:30 p.m. each day. More information is available online.
