If you’re looking to get your hands on Northumberland County’s waste and recycling collection calendars, they’ve arrived in Brighton.
Brighton says the calendars are available for residents to pick-up during regular business hours at municipal offices and the library at 35 Alice St. and at the public works building at 67 Sharp Rd.
The “everything you need to know calendar” has garbage and yard waste pick-up dates, bump week and facility closure information, along with places to buy garbage bag tags and hazardous and electronic waste details and tips. (It’s also accessible online.)
Meanwhile, residents looking to learn more about changes coming down the pipe in the new year in response to the provincial direction for Ontario’s Blue Box program can also mark Dec. 19 on the calendar. The Facebook live event that day at noon will delve into the shift, and Northumberland County’s waste department plans to host a live question and answer session for residents.
