The Help Centre is celebrating a $5,750 donation from 100+ Men Who Care Northumberland in support of its Seniors Support Program.
Executive Director Kim Lauder says the funding arrives at a critical time, helping staff assist older adults who are isolated or managing complex housing, medical, and income challenges. The program provides seniors with a trusted point of contact who can help navigate paperwork, coordinate services, and maintain access to essential benefits.
Drew Macklin of 100+ Men Who Care Northumberland said, “Of all the organizations in Northumberland County, supporting The Help Centre is an absolute must. So glad we could help.” Lauder shared a recent example involving a rural senior struggling with deteriorating health and overwhelming paperwork. Help Centre staff stepped in to review documents, resolve benefit interruptions, and ensure care continued uninterrupted.
Lauder says donations like this strengthen the organization’s ability to provide hands-on advocacy and help seniors maintain independence and peace of mind. “100+ Men Who Care Northumberland are not just donors-they are community builders,” she said.
The Help Centre has served Northumberland County for more than 40 years, offering advocacy, support, and hope to residents in need. Lauder added that contributions like this ensure the organization can continue delivering essential services for decades to come. The Help Centre extends warm thanks and best wishes for a joyful holiday season to all members of 100+ Men Who Care Northumberland, their families, and their communities.
