The ReFrame Film Festival is returning to Nogojiwanong / Peterborough from January 30 to February 8, 2026, marking its 22nd year of showcasing documentaries that challenge assumptions, reveal urgent truths, and spark community conversations.
The festival attracts audiences locally and from across Canada, offering a mix of compelling stories that highlight social inequities and celebrate resilience.
The in-person program runs January 30 to February 1 at the Showplace Performance Centre and Market Hall Performing Arts Centre in downtown Peterborough. More than 40 new documentary films will be featured, complemented by filmmaker Q&As, workshops, panels, performances, and exhibits spread throughout the city over the 10-day festival.
Following the in-person screenings, the Virtual Program runs February 3 to 8, providing online access to more than half of the in-person lineup. This allows audiences across Canada to engage with the festival’s curated documentaries, while still participating in post-screening discussions and related events online.
Festival passes make a timely gift for the holidays. Hybrid passes at $145 provide full access to both in-person and virtual programs. In-person passes are $120, single virtual passes are $60, and Watch-With-A-Friend virtual passes are $75. Passes can be purchased online at ReFrameFilmFestival.ca or locally at Watson & Lou in downtown Peterborough.
ReFrame has built a reputation for thoughtful programming that encourages audiences to engage with pressing issues and diverse perspectives. Its combination of screenings, interactive sessions, and community-based events continues to foster connection, reflection, and dialogue among filmmakers, participants, and the broader community.
