Interim head coach Andrew Campbell
The Belleville Senators have relieved head coach David Bell of his duties and promoted assistant coach Andrew Campbell to interim head coach.
In a short statement, Ottawa Senators general manager Steve Staios says the organization is constantly evaluating ways to improve and felt the timing was right for a fresh voice in Belleville. Staios thanked Bell for his time with the organization and wished him well in his next opportunity.
Bell spent parts of four seasons behind the Belleville bench, compiling a 97-78-15-11 record. He first took over as interim head coach in February 2023 before being named full-time later that spring.
Campbell, 37, joined the Belleville Senators coaching staff in July 2024 after previously serving as an assistant coach with the Hamilton Bulldogs. A Caledonia, Ontario native, Campbell also brings professional playing experience, having appeared in 42 NHL games as a defenceman with the Los Angeles Kings, Arizona Coyotes and Toronto Maple Leafs.
The club says assistant coach Stefan Legein and goaltending coach Paul Gibson will remain on staff under Campbell.
The Belleville Senators currently sit fifth in the American Hockey League’s North Division with a record of 11-14-3 through 28 games. Their next game is Friday night on the road against the Rochester Americans.
Single-game tickets for all remaining home games in the 2025-26 season are available through Ticketmaster and at the Belleville Senators Box Office inside the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
