Police say a 42-year-old man from Quinte West is facing charges after a bus shelter was damaged in Cobourg earlier this week.
According to police, officers on general patrol observed a man kicking a bus shelter in the area of Strathy Road on December 16, 2025, at approximately 10:20 a.m. Police say the actions caused damage to the shelter.
The individual was arrested at the scene and charged with mischief, along with two counts of failing to comply with probation. Police say the accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and has since been remanded into custody.
No injuries were reported.
Police are reminding the public that damage to public infrastructure can result in criminal charges and additional financial costs to the community. Anyone with information related to incidents of vandalism is encouraged to contact police.
