A man accused of lighting trash on fire in Belleville has been charged, say police.
Back on Dec. 10, 2025, the Belleville Police Service said it received a report involving a man who had lit a piece of trash on fire inside a rental house and also tampered with fire alarms.
After reviewing surveillance footage, officers allegedly observed the man lighting a fire contained within a room and were able to identify the suspect.
On Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, police said a 29-year-old Belleville man was located, arrested and charged with mischief – endangering life.
This charge has not been proven in court.
The accused was released on an undertaking and will appear in court in February.
