Cobourg police have cleared from the Sutherland Crescent area as part of a sudden death investigation.
Details are still scarce, but in an afternoon update on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, the Cobourg Police Service confirmed officers had cleared the area and released the scene after helping the Office of the Chief Coroner with an investigation.
Earlier Monday, a police spokesperson confirmed via email to MBC that the increased police presence was due to a sudden death investigation.
Police had been on scene since Sunday, Jan. 18. No other details have been released, except for police to say there was no risk to public safety.
