A Frankford resident is facing charges after allegedly driving impaired while on drugs and nearing colliding with a Quinte West OPP cruiser, say police.
The alleged incident was last week on Jan. 12, which resulted in a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle at about 5 a.m. that day, reported Quinte West OPP, in a release issued on Jan. 19, 2026.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 24-year-old Frankford man was charged with operation while impaired – drugs, dangerous operation, novice driver – presence of drug, failure to report an accident and failure to remain.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Belleville court on Feb. 5, 2026, reported OPP.
Police continue to call on citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
