Three people are facing charges after a drug-trafficking probe in the Belleville, Deseronto and Shannoville areas, say police.
OPP’s East Region community street crime unit, with help from the Belleville Police Service, initiated the investigation in late 2025, said OPP.
The probe culminated in a warrant executed at a Moira Street East residence on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, reported OPP.
Three people were arrested at the scene, and officers allege they seized about 11.5 grams of suspected cocaine, nearly $700 in cash and items typically associated with drug-trafficking.
As a result of the investigation, three Belleville residents – one 41-year-old man, one 36-year-old man and one 38-year-old woman – were each charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. The 41-year-old man was additionally charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
None of these charges have been proven in court. All of the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Belleville court on March 16, 2026, reported OPP.
