The City of Quinte West is now accepting applications for the spring intake of its Community Improvement Plan (CIP) program, offering financial support to help local businesses enhance and revitalize their properties.
The CIP program provides up to 50 per cent in matching funding for eligible projects, including building and property renovations, façade improvements, signage upgrades and upper-storey conversions. Local tourism operators are also eligible to apply for funding to enhance tourism-related offerings. Maximum funding amounts are outlined in the Community Improvement Plan.
“The City’s goal is to help local businesses improve their operations, helping to make Quinte West an even more vibrant place to live, work, and visit,” said Linda Lisle, manager of economic development and tourism services. “This CIP funding allows eligible businesses to invest in their properties and contribute to the economic growth of the community.”
In 2025, city council approved $200,000 in CIP funding to be distributed between the spring and fall intake periods. Last year, 15 applications were submitted, with eight projects completed and receiving funding.
Past recipients say the program can be a game-changer for small businesses. One business owner described the application process as straightforward and said the project would not have been possible without the CIP support.
Business owners interested in applying are encouraged to review program details and eligibility requirements in advance of the deadline. Applications for the spring intake must be submitted by March 5, 2026.
