Two Centre Hastings residents are facing charges after an alleged drug seizure in Madoc, say police.
On Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, police said as part of an investigation, OPP’s East Region community street crime unit executed a search warrant at a Durham Street residence, with help from OPP’s emergency response team, canine unit and uniform Central Hastings OPP officers.
Two individuals were arrested without incident, and officers alleged they seized more than three grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and more than five grams of suspected psilocybin, along with a prohibited knife and items typically associated with drug-trafficking.
As a result of the investigation, police said two Centre Hastings residents ages 45 and 42 were both charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking, and knowledge of an unauthorized possession of a weapon.
The 45-year-old was additionally charged with failure to comply with an undertaking, while the 42-year-old was charged also charged with two counts of failure to comply with a probation order, added OPP.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
Both of the accused will appear in Belleville court on May 4, 2026, reported OPP.
