One Frankford and one Trenton resident are celebrating a major lottery win.
Frankford resident Daniel Asti and Trenton resident Terry Istead won $500,000 in the Dec. 26, 2025, Lotto Max draw, OLG has just announced.
Their ticket was one of two that split a $1 million Maxmillions prize.
The pair of property management co-workers said they’ve been playing the lottery together since 2018.
“I checked the ticket on the OLG app the morning after the draw, but I didn’t have my glasses on so I asked my wife to take a look at the screen,” recalled Asti, while at the OLG prize centre in Toronto picking up their winnings. “She was overjoyed and started jumping up and down.”
Asti broke the exciting news to Istead right away, added OLG.
“I didn’t believe him at first,” recalled Istead, with some laughter. “I said: ‘Are you kidding me?’ Then I told my wife and daughter-in-law. They were so happy for me.”
Asti plans to put his portion of the windfall toward his kid’s education, while Istead looks forward to taking a trip to the Dominican Republic.
The winning ticket was purchased at Frankford Variety and Laundromat on Mill Street in Frankford.
