Campbellford Memorial Hospital has reached a significant milestone in its redevelopment journey with the launch of a comprehensive Clinical Services Plan and Master Program.
Hospital officials say the planning work will guide decisions about what services will be offered in a future hospital and how those services will be organized. The process will examine current and projected health care needs, population trends and service pressures to help design a modern, integrated rural hospital.
Following a competitive procurement process, CMH has engaged an integrated consulting team including HDR Architecture, Unity Design Studios, Resource Planning Group, Trans4mation Solutions Consulting and Preyra Solutions Group.
CEO Jeff Hohenkerk says the planning phase is about taking a thoughtful, evidence based approach to ensure redevelopment is grounded in a clear understanding of community needs and the realities of rural care delivery.
Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Sylvia Jones says the step brings the project closer to construction and reflects the province’s commitment to expanding capacity and improving access to care.
MPP David Piccini says developing a strong Clinical Services Plan is critical to ensuring residents of Northumberland Peterborough-South and surrounding communities have access to modern, sustainable health care facilities.
Board Chair Carrie Hayward describes the work as foundational, while Foundation Chair Martha Hunt says redevelopment is about investing in future ready care for generations to come.
CMH is a 38 bed hospital in Trent Hills serving approximately 40 thousand residents across Northumberland, Peterborough and Hastings counties, along with seasonal visitors.
