A Madoc man is facing a slew of charges after an alleged incident in Belleville.
According to the Belleville Police Service, on March 5, 2026, police responded to a west-end residence for an incident that allegedly occurred on March 2, 2026.
When police arrived on scene, it was reported that a man had attended a woman’s residence, banged on the windows and allegedly smashed a window attempting to gain entry, said police.
It was also reported that the man used her credit card to make multiple unauthorized transactions and made threats towards hers, added police.
During the arrest, police said the accused attempted to flee but was apprehended a short distance away.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 47-year-old Madoc man was arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, fraud under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, resisting a peace officer, and failure to comply with a probation order.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
