A 19-year-old has died after crash in Belleville over the weekend and a Quinte West man arrested, say police.
On Saturday, March 21 at 11:25 p.m., police, fire and paramedics responded to a serious collision on Dundas Street West, said the Belleville Police Service.
A 19-year-old Belleville man had to be extracted from the vehicle and was transported to Kingston with life-threatening injuries, said police, on Monday. On Sunday afternoon, police said the 19-year-old had succumbed to his injuries.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 49-year-old Quinte West man was arrested and charged and held for a bail hearing.
However, police have not detailed specific charges and in response to MBC inquiries around charges, a police spokesperson said their investigation is still ongoing and an update is expected in coming days.
