A Belleville woman is facing charges after a Prince Edward County OPP child luring investigation, say police.
According to OPP, the investigation was started in mid-March after reports of alleged luring and sexual offences.
As a result of the investigation, police said Kaitlin Farrell, 32, of Belleville, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age, sexual interference, luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, and invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age.
Police added the accused was also charged with supplying a vapour product to a minor under the Smoke Free Ontario Act.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Picton court at a later date, reported OPP, who provided no other details surrounding the investigation.
However, investigators did say anyone with information relating to the investigation is urged to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers where tips can be shared anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
