A Quinte West man is accused of driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs and without a licence.
Quinte West OPP said the accused was arrested after a traffic stop initially in the Ontario Street Trenton area last Friday night (March 27.)
An investigation led to an impaired driving arrest and the accused being transported to the detachment for further testing, reported OPP.
As a result of the probe, police said the 34-year-old man was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and driving without a licence.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused will appear in court in Belleville on May 7, 2026, reported OPP.
Quinte West OPP continues to call on citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
The accused also had his licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
