After pulling over a speeding vehicle in the Hwy. 2 Quinte West area, police say a Belleville resident is facing charges.
Quinte West OPP said the traffic stop was initiated Sunday, March 29, 2026, at about 10:55 p.m.
The stop led to an impaired driving investigation, resulting in an arrest and a trip to the station for the accused for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 25-year-old Belleville resident was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus,) speeding 1-49 km/h over the posted limit, failure to notify of change of address and failure to have an insurance card.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused is due in court on May 14, 2026, reported OPP.
The 25-year-old also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for a week.
