Belleville police say several people are facing charges following separate incidents over the weekend involving assault, weapons, and property damage.
On April 19 at about 6 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the city’s east end for a roommate dispute. Police say one roommate had been causing issues within the home and allegedly struck the other with a frying pan.
As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault and failing to comply with a probation order. He was released on an undertaking with a court date scheduled in July.
In a separate incident on April 18, police responded to the Bell Boulevard area after receiving reports that a man had displayed a concealed weapon to employees at a business.
Police say officers located the man and found bear spray and knives in his possession. A 41-year-old Belleville man was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.
Police also investigated a disturbance on April 17 involving a group acting aggressively before leaving the area in a vehicle. Officers say a man involved later kicked the vehicle, causing damage.
A 22-year-old Belleville man was charged with mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order. He was released with a July court date.
