Quinte West OPP say two motorists are facing charges following separate impaired driving investigations over the weekend.
Police say the first incident happened Friday, April 17 at about 3:15 p.m. during a RIDE program on Riverside Parkway.
Officers used an Approved Screening Device, which led to the arrest of the driver. A 29-year-old Stirling resident was charged with operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
The second incident happened early Saturday, April 18 at about 12:30 a.m. after police received a traffic complaint on 2nd Dug Hill Road in Trenton.
Following a traffic stop and investigation, a 44-year-old Kingston resident was arrested and charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
OPP say both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville at a later date.
In both cases, police also imposed a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.
OPP continue to remind the public that suspected impaired driving should be reported by calling 9-1-1.
