AGM 2026 Social Media - 2026 Annual Meeting
YMCA Northumberland brought together staff, volunteers, donors, dignitaries, and community partners Thursday for its 2026 annual meeting in Cobourg, celebrating a year of growth and community support under the theme “Because of You.”
The event was held at The Mill Restaurant and Golf Course and highlighted the organization’s expanding impact across Northumberland County.
President and CEO Eunice Kirkpatrick opened the meeting by reflecting on the role the community plays in helping the YMCA deliver programs and services that support health, wellness, and inclusion.
Officials reported nearly 300,000 visits to YMCA Northumberland’s three Health, Fitness and Aquatics locations in 2025, serving more than 7,350 members.
The organization also reported more than 6,400 camp days for children, 3,400 swim lessons, and 828 children enrolled in YMCA child care programs.
Leaders say those numbers reflect growing demand for services that support children, families, seniors, and individuals facing challenges such as chronic illness, poverty, unemployment, and social isolation.
The meeting also included the 2025 financial report presented by Baker Tilly LLP, which highlighted continued financial stability and growth supporting the YMCA’s charitable work.
Board Chair Mark Galonski and YMCA leadership also reviewed strategic priorities for the year ahead and introduced new board members.
Haig Baronikian of Brighton, Suzanne McCrimmon of Cobourg, and Michael Shankar of Campbellford were elected to the board, while current director Yvette McCartney of Cobourg renewed her term.
Officials say the annual meeting served as both a celebration and a reminder that community support continues to shape the YMCA’s ability to change lives across Northumberland.
