Construction season is ramping up in Brighton, and there will be a closure in the Ontario Street area today (Wednesday, April 29) to accommodate water service connection work.
The Municipality of Brighton says the impacted stretch is from about 114 Ontario St. to 117 Ontario St., which will be down to one lane between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Officials say traffic controls will be in place during the work to ensure safety and manage the flow of vehicles through the area.
Residents who will be impacted with a water main shutdown should’ve been notified directly, add officials.
Nearby, as previously reported, work on the Prince Edward Street/County Road 64 reconstruction project is also ramping back up.
Coming up in early May, the goal is for crews to be fully mobilized (by May 4) essentially at both ends of what’s left of the urban portion of the project from the Harbour and Stephen streets area up to Elizabeth Street. This means construction will start at both sites and crews will work their way towards the middle by July.
