Student transportation for extracurricular activities is the focus of a campaign to raise money to pay for busing at Spring Valley Public School.
Parent and school council spokesperson Mackenzie Yarrow tells us the goal of the “Buy a Bus” Campaign is ensure every student has access to out-of-class educational opportunities.
Yarrow says the campaign offers several levels of contribution including the $10 thousand dollar “Bus Hero” category which includes donor recognition.
There is also donor recognition for the $5,000 “Route” sponsorship, $1,000 “Seat” sponsor, and the $500 “Fuel Our Future” level. There is also a $100 “Community Supporter” category. All donations include a tax receipt.
Yarrow says to get things going, the Municipality of Brighton has thrown in some cash.
Brighton council approved an allocation of $5,000 for bussing and other initiatives at Spring Valley Public school.
