After following up on a traffic complaint, Quinte West OPP says police have laid charges in another impaired driving investigation.
According to OPP, officers followed up on the complaint in the Dundas Street West area Tuesday at about 6:15 p.m. After catching up the with suspect vehicle, an impaired driving investigation was initiated, resulting in an arrest and a trip to the station for further testing for the accused, reported police.
As a result of the probe, police said a 44-year-old Quebec resident was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus.)
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused is due in Belleville court on June 11, 2026.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for 90 days.
Police continue to ask citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
