Loyalist College is expanding financial support programs to help reduce cost barriers for students planning to attend this fall, the college has announced.
The college says it will provide $275,000 in donor supported bursaries this spring and summer, allowing students to learn about funding opportunities earlier in the application process.
In addition, Loyalist is increasing its fall entrance bursary program to a record $300,000. The program will include 300-need based bursaries valued at $1,000 each, marking the highest total funding and number of entrance awards in the college’s history.
Officials say the changes are designed to help students and families better plan for post-secondary education and reduce financial uncertainty.
Loyalist College President and CEO Mark Kirkpatrick says affordability remains a key concern and the college is focused on ensuring students know support is available before they arrive on campus.
Beyond entrance bursaries, the college offers a range of financial supports, including funding for Indigenous students, varsity athletes, and those entering specific fields such as the skilled trades, note officials.
During the 2025-26 academic year, Loyalist reports distributing more than $2 million in financial assistance.
Students and families can learn more during the “paying for college” information night on May 13, where staff from across the college will be available to answer questions about scholarships, bursaries, OSAP and employment opportunities.
