Crews are doubling down on efforts in the 2nd Dug Hill Road area and traffic impacts will continue into summer.
To accommodate the work on 2nd Dug Hill Road urbanization project, a full road closure is now in place from Hwy. 2 to Hillside Meadows Drive, said the City of Quinte West.
“All residential traffic from Hillside Meadows subdivision will be detoured south on 2nd Dug Hill Road to Loyalist Parkway for the duration of the closure,” added officials, while noting that temporary signal lights have also been installed to manage traffic flow in the area and will remain in effect throughout the summer.
While access will remain for emergency vehicles, all other residential traffic accessing the Hillside Meadows subdivision is being detoured to Loyalist Parkway.
As previously reported, this closure and work relate to the construction of a new multi-use pathway, sidewalk and road reconstruction. The urbanization project focuses on the stretch from Hwy. 2 south for about 1.6 kilometres.
The first phase of construction started in April and will stretch into summer.
City staff said updates and traffic notices will be shared throughout the project.
Project updates are also posted via the city’s website.
