After a “walk-in” at the police station, Quinte West OPP says a woman is facing impaired driving charges.
According to Quinte West OPP, on Friday, May 8, 2026, at about 2:10 a.m., a traffic complaint let police to suspect a motorist have been under the influence of alcohol. The driver then allegedly went to the OPP station in relation to a separate incident, and charges were laid, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 26-year-old Quinte West woman was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused is due in Belleville court on June 18 and also had their licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days, said police.
Quinte West OPP continues to ask citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
