Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is preparing for a busy fundraising year with a goal of raising at least $4.1 million to support new medical equipment, technology and hospital priorities.
The Foundation’s board approved its new operational plan and budget during its April meeting, officially launching the organization’s new fiscal year which runs from April 1 through March 31.
Foundation CEO Rhonda Cunningham says the organization is entering the year with ambitious fundraising goals and several important projects planned for Northumberland Hills Hospital.
Among the priorities identified for funding are a new mammography unit, cardiac monitors, sterilizers, neonatal warmers, updated surfaces, scopes and stretchers.
The Foundation says while government funding helps cover hospital operations, it does not pay for many of the medical tools, equipment and technology patients depend on every day.
Funds raised through the Foundation also help support staff education and hospital programs serving residents across west Northumberland.
Cunningham says the fundraising priorities represent meaningful improvements that will directly impact patient care throughout the region.
The Foundation says community members can expect several opportunities to get involved in the coming months, including returning signature fundraising events and new initiatives aimed at building stronger community connection and support for the hospital.
Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation says donations from residents, businesses and community partners continue to play a critical role in helping the hospital maintain modern equipment and provide high quality care close to home.
More information about current fundraising priorities and upcoming initiatives is available through the Foundation’s website.
