Northumberland OPP says an investigation headed up by the crime is continuing after a fire at a residence in the Municipality of Port Hope yesterday.
According to OPP, on Monday, May 11, at about 8:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a structure fire on County Road 2.
“The residence sustained significant damage,” said police, in a release issued Tuesday, May 12.
However, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, noted officials.
In their update Tuesday, police stated a portion of County Road 2 was closed temporarily while first-responders were on scene – and that the closure was also needed to hold the location for the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) to conduct its investigation.
The Northumberland OPP crime unit said their probe is also continuing. However, as of Tuesday morning, police said no further information was available.
“Updates will be provided as they become available.”
