WEDNESDAY, MAY 20:
DONATIONS FOR BRIGHTON CURLING CLUB GARAGE SALE: Residents can drop up items in good shape to help the club with this annual fundraiser Wednesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and later Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. This fundraiser helps raise critical dollars to keep costs down for people looking to learn the sport of curling. The garage sale itself is Saturday, May 23 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to noon. There’s a list of what is accepted for donations and what isn’t via the club’s Facebook page.
WEDNESDAY COMMUNITY LUNCH: Swing by for servings at 11:30 a.m. This is a Codrington Community Association fundraiser, which enables the association to put on free events year-round.
KNITCETERA: Hosted at the Brighton Public Library from 12:30 to 2:30. Drop in and chat and share your project with other yarn enthusiasts. All fibre artists are welcome, as well as those who want to learn how to knit or crochet. No registration is needed to join.
BRIGHTON LIONS’ BINGO: Hosted at King Edward from 4 to 10 p.m.
SUPPER’S READY BRIGHTON: Hosted at Trinity-St. Andrew’s United Church every Wednesday, offering people a chance to connect over a free meal from 5 to 6 p.m. For those who are able, small donations are appreciated to help cover some food costs.
THURSDAY, MAY 21:
DONATIONS FOR BRIGHTON CURLING CLUB GARAGE SALE: There’s still time to drop off some unwanted but still good, usable items to help out the Brighton and District Curling Club 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fundraising garage sale happens this weekend Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to noon.
BELLEVILLE FARMERS’ MARKET: Hosted at 15 Market Sq., Belleville, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
BUSY BEES: Hosted at The Brighton Public Library from 10 to 10:30 a.m., this is a chance for caregivers and babies to explore sensory activities in a relaxed program.
SONG AND STORYHOUR: Hosted at BPL from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Join Terry and Penny for sing-alongs and stories. No registration is needed.
PROM FLOWERS WORKSHOP: ENSS students are invited to join Penny and Alyssa at the Brighton library to learn how to craft a corsage of boutonniere that will never wilt. Registration is needed for this event. The workshop is being hosted from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
TWEEN SCENE: Geared for ages 11 to 14 at the Brighton Public Library, youth can drop in for snacks, games and crafts or just to hang out. The fun runs from 3 to 4 p.m.
MILLENNIAL CRAFT NIGHT: Join the Trenton library for some for a nostalgic throwback to the after-school magic of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Registration is needed for this event, which runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
LOCAL SPORTS: Support our teams!
The Brighton Bandits 13 and under teams hit the diamonds at King Edward for practice tonight, and games will officially start next week for all teams.
