A 46-year-old Thomasburg man is facing assault charges after police say they responded to an east-end residence for a dispute call Wednesday, May 20.
According to the Belleville Police Service, at about 5 p.m., police responded to the home after it was reported that a verbal altercation between multiple individuals escalated when one man pushed a second onto a couch. A third individual was also present, noted police.
Through investigation, officers said they learned the same man who pushed the victim also threatened the third individual – and earlier in the month, threw an object at that same person.
As a result of the probe, police said the 46-year-old man was charged with assault, assault – spousal, and uttering threats – spousal.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
