A Trenton man has been charged after a child sexual exploitation investigation and a search warrant executed earlier this week, say police.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Quinte West OPP said officers with the crime unit – with help from members of the OPP child sexual exploitation unit and digital forensics unit – executed a search warrant at a residence in Trenton.
Several electronic devices were seized, reported OPP, on Friday, May 22.
As a result of the investigation, police said Kyle Peirson, 30, of Trenton, was arrested and charged with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
This charge has not been proven in court.
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, reported OPP, on Friday.
OPP said police continue to work to identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children. Parents are also being reminded to take a proactive approach to help protect their kids online by educating kids on internet safety, said OPP, adding that resources are also available via cybertip.ca or protectchildren.ca.
Anyone with information about this investigation or online child exploitation is urged to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Crime Stoppers is an alternative anonymous option where tips can be submitted online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
