A Cramahe man is facing charges after an impaired driving investigation in Quinte West.
According to Quinte West OPP, on Thursday, May 21, at about 1:30 a.m., a traffic complaint in the Stockdale Road area led officers to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol.
The accused driver was arrested and transported to the police station for further testing and as a result of the probe, charges were laid under both the Criminal Code of Canada and the Liquor Licence and Control Act, reported OPP.
The accused is a 24-year-old Cramahe man, who was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and driving with liquor readily available.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was released from court and will appear in Belleville court on July 2, reported OPP.
His licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for a week.
