Quinte West OPP is calling on the public for help in connection with an arson incident last weekend.
Last Saturday, May 23, 2026, shortly before 2:15 a.m., police said emergency crews, including uniform officers, members of the crime unit and firefighters, responded to a residential fire on Hamilton Road.
The initial investigation determined the fire was started between 1:45 a.m. and 2:15 a.m., said OPP, in a release issued Friday, May 29.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police are calling on any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with dash-cam or doorbell video footage or information relating to this probe is also being asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Alternatively, Crime Stoppers is an anonymous option where tips can be submitted online or by calling 1-800-222-8477. Tipsters through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward and do not have to testify in court.
